A true warrior for spirit, Janae Whittaker, has dedicated her life to supporting current and ex-athletes in achieving Gold Medal results in all areas of life. Extensively trained by Accomplishment Coaching and Coach U, she is an extraordinary life coach and leader. Janae earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and Physical Education at The Pennsylvania State University. Janae brings years of athletic experience to coaching from both her club and collegiate gymnastics experience, highlighted by being a team captain at Penn State. During her collegiate career, Janae earned such awards as: MVP, 4x NCAA National Competitor, 4X Academic All-American, All Big Ten, 1997 Regional Co-Champion, Most Improved Gymnast, NCAA Leadership Conference and many more. Despite suffering a devastating career ending injury her senior year, Janae persevered, honoring her commitment to gymnastics.
This dedication and spirit led to the creation of a Penn State award named in her honor- The Janae Whittaker Attitude Award. As quoted in the Daily Collegian 1999, “For someone thought of so highly by her peers, coaches and fans, one would expect nothing short of such optimism and team spirit from The [Penn State] Lady Lion’s emotional spark!” These experiences served as the foundation for the passion and heart for Janae to work with people in designing their lives!
She has since worked with many Olympic and professional coaches and athletes and most recently was recruited by the two-time Emmy Nominated, Life Coaching TV Show- Starting Over. Janae was brought on as an expert Athletic Life Coach to support an Olympic level athlete in transitioning out of gymnastics. Janae is brilliant at shifting her clients’ current context to open new possibilities and let greatness emerge!
